Families should select the service or services they are most comfortable with based on the circumstance. If the service plans listed do not meet the needs of your unique situation, a service agreement can be developed to accommodate your requests.
FREE Consultation
During this free 30-minute initial telephone consultation, I will listen to your concerns and discuss available support options based on the level of educational need for your child to help you decide if Social Butterfly is the right partner for you and your child.
Additional time for telephone guidance and recommendations can be billed as an hourly service after the initial
30 minute Free Consultation.
Annual Retainer Fee
This annual retainer will provide you with continual and consistent “behind the scenes” support as you work to partner and collaborate with your child’s school to develop the most appropriate programming for their education.
Retainer services include:
On-boarding meeting with family and student. Provide an overview of the Special Education/504/Disciplinary evaluations and processes within the education system, review IEP/504 Plan/Disciplinary documents, and discuss parental concerns and desired outcomes for the child in order to develop an advocacy strategy to best serve the family
Comprehensive review of all FIE/IEP/504/Evaluation/Discipline documents
Formal ARD/504 meeting request to address any concerns noted during document review
Written communication support and guidance with school (plus support with drafting emails by parents (ghostwriting))
Written communication with other educational professionals and therapists to ensure the child has an appropriate diagnosis, services, information, and records in place
Written follow up after ARD/504 meeting with the school to ensure IEP/504 Plan is implemented consistently and with fidelity
Quarterly review of IEP Progress Reports and Academic Report Cards
Written communication with the family throughout the school year to ensure the child is properly supported by school staff, or for any school/classroom issues that arise (email, text messaging)
Provide resources for filing a local grievance, Texas Education Agency (TEA) state complaint, or Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaint, if necessary. The goal of Social Butterfly is to avoid the need to file a formal complaint by working seamlessly with the parent as they foster a strong and collaborative partnership with the school district; however, there may be instances that rise to the occasion of filing formal complaints.
$350/year plus additional hourly services
One Time Paperwork Review
Some families prefer to have an extra set of ears to listen to their concerns and provide guidance or recommendations prior to attending an annual ARD or 504 meeting. This service allows for families to tailor the level of support based on their needs.
One Time Meeting Services Include:
One-time meeting with family and student. Discuss parental concerns and desired outcomes for the child to be addressed in the upcoming meeting.
Detailed review of most recent evaluation (504 Evaluation or Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) for Special Education), current 504 Plan or Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and IEP Progress Reports
Provide recommendations based on the data evidenced during the formal document review and parent concerns/desired outcomes so the parent is equipped and empowered to attend and participate meaningfully in their child's educational planning.
Additional hourly services are available at the request of the family.
$100 flat fee
($50 will be applied to annual retainer should you choose to expand support)
Disciplinary Due Process Hearing Support
Some families may find themselves in a unique situation where their child is being accused of a behavioral infraction that rises to the level of recommended placement at a district's alternative education campus (DAEP) for a significant number of days. This is a stand alone support package is available for families of students with or without disabilities who are seeking support and guidance through the disciplinary due process.
Disciplinary Due Process Hearing Services Include:
One-time meeting with family and student. Discuss disciplinary infraction according to the district's Student Code of Conduct and Texas Education Code.
Detailed review of the campus behavior referral, notices of hearing, and other relevant documents pertaining to the student, the infraction, and the district's recommendation for discipline.
Attend the Disciplinary Hearing with the family to listen to the information and ask questions, if necessary. (Please note: If your child is served through Special Education or 504, an MDR Meeting will occur either prior to or immediately following the Disciplinary Hearing. Advocate attendance for the MDR will require additional review of pertinent documents and an hourly fee.)
Review follow up communication from the district regarding the final decision for discipline and help guide family on next steps.
File appeal according to the district's process, if necessary.
$150 flat fee
($50 will be applied to annual retainer should you choose to expand support)
Additional Hourly Services
Hourly services will be billed in addition to a single package selection, the annual retainer fee, and/or as an extension to the initial free 30 minute consultation. These services provide face-to-face meeting opportunities to align collaboration and communication during meetings, as well as offer additional support for the family, knowing someone is present and in their corner, hearing first hand what the district is proposing.
Hourly services available:
Additional telephone guidance and recommendations that may extend beyond the initial 30 minute Free Consultation.
Attend (in person) Annual ARD/504 Meetings or any additional required meetings during the school year (Revision, Transition, Manifestation Determination Review (MDR) Meetings, Disciplinary Due Process Hearings, Parent Requested Meetings, etc.)
Attend (by zoom) Annual ARD/504 Meetings or any additional required meetings during the school year (Revision, Transition, MDR, Disciplinary Hearings, Parent Request, etc.)
Review of drafted documents being proposed by the district, provided to the parent by the campus 5 days prior to scheduled meeting.
After review of the drafted documents, meet with the family to explain the upcoming ARD/504/Discipline Meeting process and discuss with the family prior to the scheduled meeting recommendations for programming based on the family’s concerns, desired outcomes, and the data and recommendations for the student shared by the district so the family is equipped with an understanding and the ability to successfully collaborate with the district during the meeting in the best interest of their child
Review of post meeting documents to ensure the educational plan is consistent with what was agreed upon at meeting and in compliance with state/federal requirements
** Billed cost of mileage (65.5 cents/mile) for a meeting location outside of a 30-mile radius from home office
$55/hour (billed with itemized statement of services)
Founding Family Rate: $350 annual retainer fee plus additional hourly services
Multi-child discount: 10% off each additional sibling
